Is AlertMe Live really free?
AlertMe Live is 100% free. No subscriptions, no upgrades, no hidden costs.
Where does the location-based service info come from?
We maintain a database of official law enforcement, legal aid locations and more across the US and Canada, sourced from public data. The app matches your location to the nearest resources and includes them in the alert your contacts receive. Because this data comes from public sources, it may not always be current.
Can I cancel an alert once sent?
Yes. You can cancel an active alert at any time from within the app. Doing so immediately stops location updates. Your contacts also receive a notification that the alert has ended.
What data do you collect?
Only what's needed to send alerts: your account info, trusted contacts, and location during an active alert. Location data is deleted 15 days after the alert ends. No audio, no video, no tracking outside alerts.
How are my contacts notified?
Via SMS, WhatsApp, and email — depending on which channels each contact has confirmed. Each message includes a secure link to your live location and nearby resources.
Where is AlertMe Live available?
AlertMe Live works anywhere you have a network connection. Location-based resource information (nearby police stations, legal aid, etc.) is currently available for the United States and Canada.
Is AlertMe Live an emergency service?
No. AlertMe Live notifies your trusted contacts — it does not contact authorities. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
